Let’s choose each other in a politically divided world.

This 8-week program by The Colossian Forum invites Christians to cultivate mindsets and habits to grow in Christian virtue. This isn’t about changing political positions, but learning how to hold others’ beliefs — and still be in relationship with them. You’ll learn how to show up and love one another in these politically polarizing times.

How It Works

What it looks like to choose each other.

We sit across the table from each other.

This work requires a small group, ideally 8-12 people, who are willing to engage in deep conversations. The group will meet for eight weeks for 60-90 minutes. Participant guides are $18.99 on Amazon.

sit-across

We have honest conversations about what matters.

In the first several sessions, we’ll examine our mindsets (or our ways of thinking) and practice habits to bring our thinking more fully into alignment with Christ. Then we’ll turn to more specific aspects of a Christlike posture and practice spiritual and interpersonal habits that invite the Holy Spirit in to form our hearts, minds, and actions.

We grow our ability to love God and one another.

This time together results in the rewarding work of cultivating virtues, and instills spiritual and interpersonal habits that help us live out what Kingdom-oriented political engagement looks like. Most importantly, it enables us to continue showing up despite our differences.

What People Are Saying

There is a way through difference. And it starts with our own individual efforts.

Mandy-F

I found it challenged me to become more self-reflective about my own responses to people on the other side of the political divide, and encouraged me to become more curious about others instead of just doubling-down on my opinions.

The program gave me the opportunity to come together with people of different degrees of political uniqueness, to openly discuss topics that we would otherwise be hesitant to converse on, with a more open mind to share and listen, with less judgement.

The material is done so well that it allows for folks to share thoughts in non-confrontational ways, opening doors for vulnerability. Participants are invited to share impressions of politics and conflict from our past, and then offered alternative ways of being.

Tools and support for small group success.

This is the beginning of an exciting journey. We have a unique opportunity to live out something different. But it’s not something we can simply decide to do on a whim — it requires a long journey of learning and practice. And support. Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.

The Team Behind One Anothering

Meet The Colossian Forum.

We equip Christians to transform conflict into opportunities for spiritual growth. Our vision is that Christian communities will begin to look more like Christ in the midst of conflict.

How do we do this? By empowering people to embrace their curiosity and better understand one another by using conflict as a driver for connection and growth. We root our work in the pillars of reflection, possibility, and growth.
