When tension rises, do you ever feel yourself slipping into autopilot?
Shutting down, pushing harder, carrying more than your share — or maybe blaming someone else? You’re not alone. Conflict has a way of pulling all of us off center, even when we want to respond with wisdom and grace.
That’s why we created a free downloadable guide called How to Stay Grounded in the Heat of Conflict.
This resource offers prayers, reflections, and simple practices to help you slow down, notice what’s happening beneath the surface, and respond with clarity rooted in Christ.
The guide walks you through four movements that build one upon another:
-
Notice your default patterns — Recognize how you typically react when conflict shows up.
-
Remember your story — Trace those reactions back to the experiences that shaped them.
-
Entrust those stories to God — Bring them into prayer and community for healing and perspective.
-
Choose responses rooted in love — Move forward with greater freedom, clarity, and connection.
Each movement invites you to pause, reflect, and realign your heart with God’s steady presence in the midst of tension.
A sneak peek inside
Here’s a small glimpse of one of the practices you’ll find inside:
Try this: Grab a sheet of paper and mark a few key chapters of your life — places where you regularly or experienced or witnessed conflict (home, school, work, church). Next to each, jot down what you learned about handling conflict in that season. Maybe it was “don’t rock the boat,” or maybe it was “speak up.” Step back and notice the patterns. These lessons often explain why certain tensions feel harder (or easier) for you today.
Practices like this create space to slow down, see your story with fresh eyes, and begin responding to conflict with greater clarity and grace.

We believe conflict doesn’t have to divide — it can become a place of growth, connection, and deeper faith. The Staying Grounded Guide is a free resource created to help you hold tension with grace.
